Reconquinho Beach, one of the most beautiful beaches in Portugal
Reconquinho river beach, in Penacova, Coimbra, was highlighted by the National Geographic channel on its website, which considered it one of the nine most beautiful beaches in the country, in a list of one hundred possibilities located from north to south of Portugal.
National Geographic has more than 160 million subscribers worldwide, showing the planet in themes such as adventure, exploration, wildlife, peoples, cultures and natural phenomena. His documentaries explore from the mysteries of the deep ocean to the fauna and flora of the rainforests. It is available in 25 languages in 143 countries outside the United States.
Reconquinho River Beach is located on the left bank of the Mondego River, in front of Penacova village and is ideal for spending a pleasant summer day, where all its long sandy beach invites you to extend the towel. Awarded for the first time in 2013 with the blue flag, it has a bar, beach facilities, a library and entertainment guaranteed throughout the bathing season, providing all the leisure and fun conditions. In the Reconquinho is also located the center of Trail Running Carlos Sá, with the particularity that this place is the starting point for all existing trail trails in the municipality of Penacova.
Situated right on the Mondego River, Reconquinho River Beach is about 1.5 km from the village of Penacova from where you can walk down a hill. Surrounded by a natural landscape where green is the dominant color, this beach is next to a campsite and has good support facilities.
The beach is connected to the other side of the river by a wooden pedestrian bridge also used for diving jumps.
