10 Best Restaurants with the Best Views in Lisbon
visit lisbon and fall in love with this amazing portuguese city, everyone who comes here wants to come back, to enjoy your dinners and lunches you have a list of the best restaurants of lisbon overlooking the city
Lisbon is such a vibrant city and, despite being quite large, it can still feel very intimate. I think a lot of it is for the people and the culture here. People are friendly here, alfresco dining is the order of the day and conversations here are much more informal and less stiffled than you find in other cities. These things on the surface seem like little irrelevant details, but they are an integral part of what Lisbon has in that small city in an impressive city.
And then there is the food! Oh boy the food! As if Portuguese food wasnt delicious enough, these restaurants go ahead and lift things up with incredible views to accompany your meal. If you are ever in Lisbon, be sure to check one of these.
1.) Panorama Restaurant
Based on the ridiculously tall (in a good way) Sheraton hotel, Panorama boasts some spectacular panoramic city views and will leave you in awe of Lisbon - and thats before you start with the food. The food here is the best combination of Portuguese and international dishes, making Panorama one of the must-see restaurants in Lisbon.
2.) Restaurant Throw yourself in Rio.
A small restaurant located next to abandoned riverside warehouses, Throw to Rio greets guests with its torch-lit tables and chairs positioned along the waters edge. In addition to its good food, this restaurant has one of the best sunset views along the 25 de Abril bridge suspension bridge, while the bright orange glow illuminates the city.
3.) Restaurant On The Bank
This fresh and modern restaurant is housed in an old container. With its magnificent views of the Belém Tower, the Jeronimos Monastery and its famous (and quite delicious) cream pie, A Margem is definitely a must-visit restaurant in Lisbon. Make a reservation to avoid disappointment.
4.) Restaurant Balcony
Located in the Four Season Hotel, Varanda Restaurant offers one of the best views of Parque Eduardo VII, Lisbons largest park. The restaurants sophisticated lunch buffet features Portuguese cuisine, including Mediterranean lobster and Japanese seafood dishes such as sushi and sashimi. I would take this buffet as a challenge and not a suggestion.
5.) Restairante Tágide
Tágide features an excellent menu of Portuguese dishes with Mediterranean influences. The restaurants first floor terrace offers great panoramic views of the castle, the cathedral, the river and is easily one of the lots most romantic restaurants.
6.) Zambezi Restaurant
The Zambezes outdoor terrace has one of Lisbons best views. From here you can see São Jorge Castle (the castle), the two bridges, the Tagus river and the Cristo de Rei. As the name implies, the delicious food on offer here is Mozambican and the great recommendation when visiting is to try the Crab pulled in yellow curry.
7.) Replacing Chapitô at the table
Located on one of Alfamas cobblestone streets, the Chapitô à Mesa restaurant has a triple view here - great views, delicious food (and wines) and that distinctly Portuguese fado. Anyone and everyone who has been to Lisbon will say that listening to fado music is a must when you are here so that technically you can kill three birds with one stone.
8.) Eleven Restaurant
One of Lisbons world-class restaurants, Eleven Restaurant specializes in gourmet dining. The dishes are made with the finest ingredients and follow intricate culinary techniques that I couldnt even begin to describe. The restaurants large windows also offer great views of the entire city and the Tagus River.
9.) Bica do Sapato Restaurant
At Bica do Sapato, they always prefer the outdoor seat - especially in summer. The lively restaurant combines 1970s-inspired decorations and stunning views of the Tagus River to ensure you start your evening in a bright style and in a great mood.
10.) Restaurant Brasserie Rossio
Located in Lisbons newest hotels, Brasserie Rossio offers spectacular views of Lisbons busiest streets, Rio, Rossio Station and Restauradores Square through its glazed walls. As with each other, despite the chic new decor inside, try to plump for an outdoor seat that you might find these snapped up very quickly to make a reservation!
