Portugal will have the largest suspension pedestrian bridge in the world we already have images

It is in the municipality of Arouca that  is being born the "largest suspension pedestrian bridge in the world"  and the construction will cost about 1.8 million euros. The structure, which is funded under the PROVERE Program - Economic Valorization of Endogenous Resources,  will have 516 meters of span over the Paiva River, at a height of 175 meters from the ground

The structure that has been under construction since May 2018 will have a span of 516 meters and will be 175 meters above the Paiva River, reveals Agência Lusa. It is inspired by the Inca bridges that cross the deepest valleys of the Andes, reveals the municipality of Arouca, and will integrate the network of pedestrian roads already existing in the municipality such as Paiva Walkways.

Next to the well-known Gariva do Paiva escarpment and included in the Aguieiras Waterfall geo-site, the new structure will have a railing tray with a useful width of 1.20 meters.

Access to the bridge will be paid and visitors will be offered various access packages. In one of them you can only cross the bridge, but there will also be options for those who want to join the route of Paiva Walkways. Currently access to the Worlds Best Adventure Attraction costs two euros.

Once open to the public, it will be paid for use, and its price should be in two different ways, depending on whether the visitor wants to know only the bridge or walk it as an integral part of Paiva Walkways.
