The beach area of Praia da Calheta is located at Avenida D. Manuel I, Calheta Municipality, in the west of Madeira, about 30 minutes drive from Funchal. It consists of two artificial coves separated from each other by a mouth of access to the Atlantic Ocean. On the east side, the beach is next to Hotel Calheta Beach and on the west side, it is next to Praceta 24 de Junho.
