Praia da Caminha one of the most secret and deserted in Portugal among the best in Europe


In an area of great beauty by the mouth of the Rio Minho, surrounded by the Pine Forest of the Camarido National Forest, Caminha Beach or Praia do Camarido Beach is located in the extreme northwest of Portugal.

 

The prestigious English newspaper  The Guardian has  chosen the 40 best beaches in Europe, based on the opinion of various travel writers. In Portugal there were five chosen beaches, one of them being Foz do Minho Beach, in Caminha.

 



Its location allows holidaymakers to choose between the fine sandy beach lapped by rough seas and the river zone, with thicker sands and calm waters, ideal for children and for sailing and windsurfing.

 

 

Ituada in the parish of Caminha this beach is coastal type with a sandy, white sand morphology. Beach, sea, mountain… There are tours for all tastes: on foot, by bike on the ecovia, by car or by boat, at sea or in the forest area (Mata do Camarido).

 

 

 



 

 

Foz do Minho beach is the northernmost sea beach of Portugal and belongs to the mouth of the Minho River by the south bank, near the Spanish border. It has a beach about 1.2 km long and a river front in the North. Nature lovers can enjoy the beauty of the  National Forest of Camarido  that complements this fantastic scenery. From here we can see the  Forte da Ínsua  that stands imposing over the Santo Isidro Ínsua 400 meters from the coast.
