Archaeological and Ethnographic Museum of Barrancos Barrancos Beja Alentejo Portugal
The Municipal Museum of Archeology and Ethnography of Barrancos is located in Barrancos, Beja district.
The museum, opened on 24 August 2007, features in its estate Iberian and Islamic epigraphic pieces, a Punic sculpture, as well as various objects found in the Barrancos area.
It also features a municipal medical office that operated from 1890 to 1960, with original parts, namely surgical instruments and the first model of a blood pressure meter.
The organization of the museum had the collaboration of archaeologist FE Rodrigues Ferreira, being supervised by the Socio-Cultural Action Division (CMB).
Barrancos Municipal Museum of Archeology and Ethnography , opened on August 24, 2007, is housed in an old manor house of the 19th century, adapted and requalified for this purpose, keeping the original design. The building also highlights the refurbished outdoor patio, which offers conditions for holding outdoor events, whether playful or cultural.
