CP Museum National Railway Museum Bragança Portugal
The National Railway Museum is a space for collective living, dialogue and sharing of knowledge, which is open to all as a territory for reflection and experimentation of relations between cultural heritage and the historical, symbolic and technological role of rail transport in Portugal.
This is an international museum, which tells the story of the railway in Portugal and brings us to a unique perspective of the history of Europe and the world. Technique, art and science intersect with the narratives of Societies, Groups and Individuals. The railroad has broken new ground, created cities, linked more or less distant communities, created and sustained new offerings and needs, changed the way we view the world.
The museum is under constant construction. Evolution is the natural state of a living organism.
Our goal is to reach the levels of excellence of the best railway museums in Europe. And overcome.
The Museum bets on a model of sustainable social and cultural development, open to all types of public.
Because we have a different audience, also the content and activities are developed to meet the needs and expectations of each.
This museum is for you.
This museum is for everyone.
Discover a museum that cultivates memory with meaning in the present.
Here you will find an innovative expository speech, bold in the use of technologies and in tune with the latest developments.
We are located in the Entroncamento Railway Complex, in an area of 4.5 hectares that includes 19 railway lines.
Our permanent exhibition houses extraordinary railway buildings.
