Forbes Considers the Azores as the Coolest Destination to Visit
Forbes magazine chose the 10 coolest countries to visit in 2019 and Portugal took the top spot - represented no less than by the Azores Archipelago.
The journalist Ann Abel, from that publication, contacted representatives of various tour operators and travel agencies who, taking into account the interests of tourists, advanced the destinations considered mandatory. Portugal was the first to be mentioned, with the Azores being the place to point in its 2019 wish list.
“The islands have volcanic crater lakes, natural hot springs and black sandy beaches. High-thrill activities include scuba diving, kayaking, hiking, whale watching, bird watching, surfing and more. And while five-star luxury isnt easy to find, there are some charming hotels, like the contemporary Furnas Boutique Hotel, urban Azor and minimalist White Exclusive Suites & Villas, ”he praised.
The New York Times has placed the archipelago among the top ten sites, and Forbes magazine has voted Portugal, and the Azores in particular, the coolest destination to visit in 2019.
The Azores, explains the article, because Portugal may even be on the radar of the world, but it is in this set of beautiful islands in the middle of the Atlantic that lies the real treasure. With new direct flights from the US, they are now very easy to reach for Americans, according to the article.
