Azores awarded the best European holiday destination
The Azores have won the Quality Coast Gold Award as the best sustainable holiday destination in Europe.
With the main objective of promoting sustainable development in coastal destinations, the Quality Coast Awards, an initiative of the European Union Coastal and Marine Union (EUCC), are considered an honor.
The panels judges selected the 100 best European destinations from 1000 candidates and the Azores archipelago was ranked # 1 for the fourth consecutive year!
This award recognizes the efforts that the Azores have made to contribute to sustainable tourism while preserving the local identity, natural and cultural heritage, beauty and pure environment of this island.
