The Casa das Penhas Douradas - Burel Expedition Hotel is a charming hotel situated at 1500 meters altitude, in the Serra da Estrela Natural Park, with a unique mountain landscape setting.


Perfectly integrated into the surroundings and inspired by local architecture, the hotel has been refurbished with natural materials such as cork and birch wood, which insulate the exterior and interior of the building and has a simple line architecture by the architect Pedro Brígida.


The hotel has 17 rooms and 1 suite, all with panoramic views and an intimate atmosphere of great comfort. Covered with birch wood and with large windows and balconies offering an unobstructed view of the Serra da Estrela mountains.


The rooms, with their huge windows, extend the view of the landscape. The décor is made in warm, warm tones and features pieces from Nordic and Portuguese artists and designers.

Wool is one of the main elements, with the burel covering some pieces of furniture such as sofas, beanbags, armchairs and some walls. There are also fireplaces, a large library that can be turned into a multimedia meeting room, a movie projector and a Ski museum.
