From 1995, when the Macao Scientific and Cultural Center was created, the Museums collection was established, partly based on the acquisition of a Chinese art collection from a Macanese. The Museum, through the organization of Temporary Exhibitions and multiple animation activities, in charge of the Educational Service, is the most public face of the CCCM. The Museum seeks to attract the general public of all ages and backgrounds, attracting interest and attention to Macao issues and the Portugal-China relationship. The CCCM Museum is a historical and cultural research laboratory that presents some findings and research from the Scientific and Cultural Center on the history of Luso-Chinese relations and the history of Macao.The Museum, using modern and dynamic, didactic and interactive languages, relies on the latest technologies to capture the attention of young people and the general public. It aims to disseminate Macaos essential condition as a meeting point par excellence of Portugal and Europe with China. At the same time, it seeks to emphasize the importance of the ancient heritage of Chinese civilization. The Museum is also responsible for the management, conservation and preservation of museum collections, the promotion of acquisitions, donations and deposits with a view to enriching the collection and contributing to the Luso-Chinese scientific and cultural promotion.
