Castreja Culture Museum Guimarães Portugal
The Castreja Culture Museum is housed in the Solar da Ponte, owned by the Martins Sarmento Society, built in the 19th century. XVIII / XIX with a beautiful park, was residence of the family of Francisco Martins Sarmento. He put his intelligence to the service of his unlimited curiosity and became a respected European-level researcher.
The Castreja Culture Museum is the first space dedicated to castreja culture, a native culture that only exists in the peninsular northwest and is the cultural matrix of this Atlantic strip of the Iberian Peninsula. The Museum emphasizes the importance of that culture, and is also the fair price of homage to the Sage who freed it from the enchantment cloak with which the Moors hid it for centuries.
